On December 10, help make Amnesty letters go farther by raising money!

Your Session has timed out.

It's not too late to raise money for human rights this holiday season!

"Write for Rights gives me a chance to exercise a basic human right—freedom of expression—on behalf of people who have few freedoms...There are few activities in life that require so little of us, yet reap such abundant rewards for everyone touched by Amnesty letter writing campaigns." Judith Ince, pictured above to the right, has raised more than $1,000 for Amnesty so far.

"For the record, a few years ago, we wrote nearly 600 letters for one of the most wanted students of Tinamen Square... his name is Van Yu Kai. He was released few years later. I cried with joy! " Cyril from Windsor, pictured to above to the right).

who we're writing for:
Rita mahatu from nepal

On December 10, we're writing to support individuals like Nepalese human rights defender Rita Mahato (pictured above) whose safety is at risk because of her work helping women who have suffered from acts of violence.

The money you raise will help Amnesty International to:
•Speak out for freedom and justice
•Research and investigate human rights abuses
•Prevent mass human rights violations
•Stop torture, wrongful imprisonment and disappearances

Thank you for taking the time to make a difference!

amnesty works!
Mugisho from the Drc

Mugisho Bazibuhe (pictured above) left the war-torn Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), fleeing persecution and torture, and sought asylum in North America.

For years, he was at risk of being returned to the DRC, and he believes that Amnesty International in Canada played a major role in finally gaining his refugee status.

“You will bring awareness to the untold story of survivors of torture,” Mugisho says. “I am writing this letter to ask for you to support Amnesty International.”
